Position Overview

This role entails overseeing grant expenditures and generating federal financial reports; assisting programs with grant applications and evaluations, inputting grants into First State Financials (FSF), and managing reimbursements from federal funds to various agencies. Additionally, this position involves reviewing financial reports, reconciling payroll, and allocating payroll expenses to grants and special fund initiatives. You will also assist in the preparation of audit schedules and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position includes supervisory duties for up to four staff members, along with managing leave and task assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze financial transactions and records for accuracy, ensuring compliance with agency budgets, agreements, grants, and contracts, as well as state and federal laws.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and consolidate data from journals and records to the general ledger; make necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain balanced funds.
  • Evaluate financial transactions for accuracy and recommend necessary changes.
  • Maintain internal controls while applying accounting principles and standards.
  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance on assigned fiscal functions.
  • Compile, analyze, and prepare various financial statements and reports to support financial, budgetary, and personnel planning.
  • Research and supply data, reports, and documentation to auditors and other stakeholders requiring financial information.
  • Utilize commercial and proprietary software systems to review and report on financial data.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders through various communication channels.
  • Engage effectively with diverse individuals across various backgrounds and abilities.
  • May oversee purchasing, disbursement, and inventory management of equipment and supplies.
Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Four years of experience in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data to ensure effective fund management and financial forecasting.
  • Two years of experience in analyzing financial challenges, developing alternatives, and advising management on solutions.
  • Training or experience in budget management to maintain expenditures within appropriations and revenue limits.
  • Experience in staff supervision, including leading and overseeing the work of others.
