Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead innovative automation projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth of our team at G6 Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for industrial automation projects including PLC, HMI, and SCADA.
  • Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control system architecture.
  • Integrate vision-guided robotics and motion control systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment related to electrical design or programming.
  • Analyze system requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct testing and validation of engineering solutions to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement engineering solutions.
  • Program and troubleshoot control systems, PLCs, and automation software.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related interactions with customers.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with project methodologies and deliverables.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and clients.
  • Document processes, specifications, and procedures related to engineering projects.

Customer Relations:

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Address customer needs through effective problem-solving and technical solutions.
  • Prepare proposal estimates and provide input during sales meetings.

Salary & Benefits:

  • A competitive salary based on experience and qualifications is offered (estimated $110,000 – 150,000).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in controls engineering, automation, or electrical engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and their application in control systems.
  • Familiarity with standards such as NEC, UL, NFPA, IEEE, CSA, and CE.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, particularly with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Siemens products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
