Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced EMT to join our team at Novant Health. As an Advanced EMT, you will provide high-quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups, primarily in a non-emergent setting.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate a BLS- or AEMT-level plan of care based on patient assessment and significant other input/data.
  • Continuously review and revise plan as needed per patient's condition.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation.
  • Operate and maintain the vehicle in a safe, efficient manner, obeying all traffic laws.
  • Complete daily base duties as well as all mandatory education/training.
  • Promote team effort and unity when working with Communications Center, other members of NHRMC and external organizations.
  • Annually continue personal development to enhance practice and profession.
  • Organize and perform work effectively and efficiently, completing all paperwork within required time frames.
  • Will occasionally provide backup service to the Field Operations Division, which may include participation in the MCI plan.
  • May perform moderate or waived point of care testing per CLIA guidelines.
  • Consistently demonstrate professional behavior and perform proactive interventions which support the Mission, Vision and Values of NHRMC and this department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Credentials: Advanced Emergency Med Tech, Drivers License Class C, Hazardous Material Operations, PreHospital Trauma LifeSupport.
  • Education: General Education Degree, Technical/Vocational Diploma.
  • Licensure / Certifications: Current North Carolina Advanced EMT, BCLS required, ACLS, PALS and ITLS or PHTLS preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one-year experience with a paid emergency services provider preferred, Two years licensed driving experience required.
