Position Overview
As a CRNA - Float, you will provide high-quality anesthesia care under the supervision or delegation of a physician, adapting to multiple site environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include:
- Traveling to different healthcare facilities within a designated region.
- Conducting thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations and obtaining patient consent.
- Selecting and administering appropriate analgesic and anesthetic agents, along with necessary adjunct medications.
- Managing all aspects of airway procedures.
- Overseeing patient emergence and recovery from anesthesia, ensuring stability during transfers.
- Initiating post-anesthesia cardiovascular and respiratory support as needed.
- Performing follow-up evaluations and care after anesthesia.
- Discharging patients from the post-anesthesia care unit.
- Monitoring vital signs closely and responding to any adverse reactions promptly.
- Ensuring timely termination of anesthesia to promote patient safety.
- Completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required, along with valid CRNA certification. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory, in compliance with state regulations.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of progressive experience in a multi-specialty physician group is preferred.
Performance Skills:
- Ability to transport patients safely within the facility.
- Proficient in clinical practices as a nurse anesthetist.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Knowledgeable in infection control and prevention methods.
- Ability to assess and respond to the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
- Competent in technical skills, including computer proficiency.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach.
- Adherence to legal and ethical nursing standards.
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Timely completion of documentation for billing and credentialing.
- Participation in mandatory training and educational sessions.
- Compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Equipment Utilized:
This role involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers.
Work Environment:
The position is based in outpatient healthcare facilities.
Physical Requirements:
The role may require standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary for the job.
