Purpose and Scope

The Maintenance Technician will perform routine and specific maintenance services, including grounds work, to ensure the facility is safe and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment repair.
  • Act as a backup for the call person in case of emergency, responding timely and appropriately.
  • Handle equipment safely to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete reports as requested.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment, test and maintain generators, and inspect and maintain fire alarm systems.
  • Inspect and maintain plumbing systems, replace or repair fixtures, and repair or refinish furniture as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance or facility operations required.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and tools in the general building/maintenance trades preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license (if required by state).
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
