Job Summary:

As a Staff Pharmacist at St. Bernards Medical Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our hospital setting. This position requires a strong foundation in pharmaceutical knowledge, clinical expertise, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense medications according to orders from authorized practitioners
  • Supervise and check the work of supportive personnel
  • Review medication orders, provide clinical consultation, and participate in staff education
  • Develop and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage pharmacist-led dosing programs and conduct pharmacy-related research
  • Collaborate with hospital committees and provide direction to pharmacy students and residents

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPH) degree
  • Licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Arkansas, granted by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Preferred experience in hospital pharmacy, including a hospital pharmacy residency

Work Environment:

This is a safety-sensitive position, and the selected candidate must be able to work in a normal hospital environment with close eye work, normal hearing, and frequent sitting, standing, and walking. The position may also involve exposure to chemical hazards when preparing chemotherapy.
