Job Overview

The Locator plays a crucial role within the Wyyerd Group LLC team. As the company embarks on an ambitious expansion of its fiber network, the Operations team collaborates with external contractors and internal departments to facilitate the swift deployment of this infrastructure. Locator Technicians are integral to this initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verifying conduit pathways
  • Mapping and identifying the location and depth of conduits and fiber lines
  • Assisting in the installation of fiber through conduits
  • Participating in fiber splicing, following training, to provide service to clients
  • Supporting maintenance and repair of outside plant infrastructure
  • Utilizing geospatial tools and GPS technology to locate existing network assets
  • Collaborating effectively with team members across the organization
  • Configuring and troubleshooting networking devices as necessary
  • Assisting with various outside plant and network-related tasks, such as drop cable placement
  • Performing additional duties as required
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Positive demeanor, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative spirit
  • Capability to lift weights up to 40 lbs
  • Understanding of the fiber network construction process
  • Proficient in computer usage and familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of electricity
  • Ability to interpret plant schematics
  • Familiarity with telecommunications wiring color codes
  • Must maintain a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Understanding of Internet Service Provider (ISP) offerings
  • Willingness to work collaboratively on all tasks
