Your Role:
An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a vital role in delivering essential medical services to inmate patients within correctional facilities.
This includes performing initial medical assessments upon intake and addressing daily medical concerns that may arise among the inmate population.
Additionally, EMTs must be ready to respond to medical emergencies within the facility, providing crucial care to patients in need.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver emergency medical assistance and basic life support to inmate patients in the correctional facility, utilizing CPR and necessary equipment.
Evaluate and document the medical history and treatment of new and existing inmate patients, administering prescribed treatments and medications as required.
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and sterilized for use during examinations and treatments, and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
Communicate effectively and clearly with colleagues, supervisors, facility administration, and patients, and be prepared to assist with job duties and work overtime if necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
High school diploma or G.E.D.·
Successful completion of an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic program is required.
Experience
Previous experience in a correctional or jail environment is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Must possess unrestricted current certification or registration in the state of practice.
