Regulatory Compliance Consultant Job Description

Vaco is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Consultant to provide consulting services to financial institutions and financial technology firms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in regulatory compliance and a strong understanding of the financial industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and fulfillment of client engagements
  • Work independently and collaboratively with financial institution clients to identify weaknesses and gaps, improve processes, analyze data, and communicate observations, findings, and recommendations
  • Perform consulting and advisory services, including examination preparation, remediation of regulatory issues, development of compliance policies and procedures, assessment of Compliance Management System (CMS), compliance risk assessments, fair lending program reviews and risk assessments, and BSA/AML independent reviews
  • Perform transactional testing in support of CMS reviews and other compliance and fair lending review activities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or financial regulatory agency experience
  • Minimum of five years' experience working in a compliance role at a financial institution, financial regulatory agency, or as a consultant specializing in compliance
  • Financial services industry experience working in consumer compliance, BSA/AML and OFAC, fair lending, and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Desired Certifications:
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS)
