Position Overview

As a key member of the Augmented Maintenance Project Support (AMPS) team, you will provide essential onsite support across the southern region of Texas and its neighboring areas. Your responsibilities will encompass project commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, analysis, maintenance, repair, and enhancement of operational assets. These assets include renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, solar panels, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and high or medium voltage substations. Your primary objective will be to maximize generation availability, enhance operational reliability, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver reactive, predictive, and preventive maintenance support while complying with NERC standards for inspection, testing, and documentation.
  • Engage actively in the behavior-based safety program, ensuring compliance with safety protocols among team members and contractors.
  • Conduct site-specific orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings to communicate and enforce site safety regulations.
  • Facilitate daily operations, including report generation, equipment inspection, operation, and repair, both onsite and remotely.
  • Coordinate High Voltage (HV) switching and curtailments with local utilities and the Independent System Operator (ISO).
  • Maintain site equipment to the highest standards of availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Utilize work planning skills to schedule activities and ensure work conformance.
  • Perform routine inspections, prepare oil analysis samples, and utilize safety tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Oversee on-site work coordination among contractors and vendors, support technology upgrades, and maintain site cleanliness.
  • Provide training on equipment operation to contractors and site personnel.
  • Apply Job Safety Plan techniques, hazard controls, and permits to work (LOTO) when addressing plant abnormalities and equipment failures.
  • Utilize computerized Work Order, Purchase Requisition, and Receiving software effectively.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program with knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory, blueprint reading, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in solar generation sites, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind generation sites, utility-scale power plants, or substation maintenance.
  • HV experience with acceptable trades qualifications and certifications (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician, or Controls Technician).
  • Ability to obtain AVO certification or equivalent as a substation technician within 12 months of hire.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining SCADA systems.
Additional Information
  • This role requires daily travel to client sites and may involve up to 70% domestic travel for emergencies and outages.
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary for driving company vehicles.
  • Willingness to travel nationally on short notice and work remotely to support operational assets is essential.
  • Compliance with ENGIE's COVID vaccination and testing policy is required.
  • Adherence to all ENGIE ethics and safety policies is mandatory.
  • The position involves 30% indoor work and 70% outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $48.76 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on various factors including geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, and internal pay alignment.
