Assist the food and nutrition division through various administrative and clerical responsibilities, along with additional assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Food and Nutrition Assistance

  • Verify that patient meal choices correspond with prescribed dietary plans by reviewing each menu. Maintain the diet cardex with updates on allergies, preferences, and dietary modifications.
  • Account for all menus and prepare them for the following day's processing.
  • Update the diet cardex with new admissions, cancellations, transfers, and discharges.
  • Document food items chosen by patients and record quantities in the cooks' production sheet.
  • Monitor daily patient meal counts and compile monthly reports.
  • Regularly review the nourishment cardex for accurate documentation of changes.
  • Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and manage office supplies to ensure efficient diet office operations. Compile charges for nutritional supplements.
  • Assist families with menu selections and provide explanations. Participate in departmental meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Maintain awareness of nutritional needs based on patient demographics.

Qualifications:

Education and Training: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience: At least one year of experience in a dietary office or clerical position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong proficiency in clerical duties and customer service.
