Under the supervision of a teacher, the Education Assistant performs various classroom functions of a clerical and instructional nature. The role involves assisting teachers with tasks such as taking attendance, collecting and recording data, and preparing materials for display.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists teachers with clerical functions, including taking attendance and recording data.
  • Collects and transmits data related to lunch census, testing, and other censuses.
  • Designs and posts materials to bulletin boards and other displays.
  • Types and copies various materials as required.
  • Assists with proctoring tests and makes-ups, distributing and collecting tests, and administering tests occasionally.
  • Records, collates, and disposes of tests.
  • Assists with classroom and playground activities, applies discipline as required, and reports cases requiring attention to the teacher.
  • Administers first aid if required.
  • Assists with ordering classroom materials and supplies.
  • Assists teachers with tutoring special groups in various subject matter.

Requirements

12 years of education, typing, and prior experience are preferred. Proof of high school graduation and a resume are required.
