Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AV Technical Solutions Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering commercial and professional AV systems, including audio, video, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and a minimum of 7 years of experience in servicing, designing, and engineering AV systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer commercial and professional AV systems, including audio, video, and control systems
  • Perform comprehensive audiovisual equipment bids for customers, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup-layout, system processing, flat panel displays, projectors, and projection systems
  • Partner with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, Service, and Fabrication to interpret project specifications and drawings, determine system layout, programming requirements, system testing, and developing bill of materials
  • Design building layouts, floor plans, rack elevations, consoles, and other related documents
  • Conduct and document final drawing review processes
  • Coordinate Design & Engineering tasks with Architects and Engineers
  • Assist sales with client visits, presentations, and proposal preparation
  • Maintain high-level personal expertise in current and future technology
  • Assist in training of new products, technologies, and Design & Engineering procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in servicing, designing, and engineering commercial and professional AV systems
  • AVIXA CTS certification required; CTS-D and/or CTS-I preferred
  • Strong knowledge of equipment connectivity, wiring, electronics, operation, and installation of professional Audio, Video, Conferencing, and Control systems
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to manage projects, multiple tasks simultaneously, and adjust to shifting priorities
  • Strong experience with computerized design programs and other project software
  • Ability to work closely as a member of a team while having a high level of personal initiative to work without close supervision
Work Environment

The successful candidate will have the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time. Some extensive walking may be required for site surveys/walk-throughs.

Travel

This role requires a minimum amount of travel, including domestic and international trips to customer and vendor sites. Travel to industry events such as LDI, NSCA, ESTA, PLASA, INFOCOMM, NAB, and other industry-related conventions and vendor training seminars may be required.
