Diabetes Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled Diabetes Educator to join our team at UP Health System - Marquette. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide diabetes education, consultation, and evaluation of patient and program outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement teaching interventions for patients, families, and significant others.
- Deliver educational material using teaching principles and various formats for new pediatric inpatients and outpatients in group and individual sessions.
- Assist in maintaining diabetes supplies and provide backup support to other staff as needed.
- Associate's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Dietetics.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications/Licenses: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP), Registered Dietitian Certification or Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) within 2 years of hire.
