What You Will Be Responsible For
Key Responsibilities:
As a Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will dedicate a significant portion of your time to mentoring warehouse staff on their roles and responsibilities, ensuring all team members are trained in the safe operation of equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will monitor performance and provide corrective feedback as needed.
Your role may involve utilizing a radio frequency (RF) device to carry out daily tasks efficiently.
You will assist warehouse personnel in effectively executing order fulfillment, receiving, stocking, and handling returns.
In addition, you may oversee shipping operations and general logistics, including urgent orders and standard deliveries.
While continuing to contribute individually, you will perform advanced tasks and make informed decisions based on your comprehensive understanding of the position and its procedures.
You will provide daily tactical direction and guidance to warehouse associates, managing workloads and recommending improvements to workflow efficiency.
Inventory management will be a crucial part of your responsibilities, including monitoring stock levels.
You may operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other motorized equipment to facilitate inventory movement.
Your supervisory duties will include assigning work, addressing manpower needs for absences, and managing workload based on volume.
You will engage with associates regarding their concerns, ensuring proper reporting and follow-up with supervisors.
Utilization of computer systems for operational management and reporting will be essential.
Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, safety regulations, and state and DEA guidelines is mandatory.
You will also perform additional related duties as assigned.
What Your Background Should Include
Experience and Educational Qualifications:
A high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required, along with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
The ability to read and comprehend the English language is necessary for comparing and interpreting product descriptions, names, and shelf labels.
Basic mathematical skills are required.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential for developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships.
Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.
A solid understanding of distribution center workflows and the ability to work with minimal supervision is expected.
Maintaining a clean work environment is important to ensure merchandise integrity and prevent workplace injuries.
Good judgment in executing detailed instructions is necessary.
Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
Flexibility to work overtime when required and participate in physical inventory is expected.
A team-oriented mindset, along with effective communication and problem-solving skills, is essential.
Proficiency in operating reach trucks, picker machines, pallet jacks, forklifts, and similar equipment is required.
Maintaining acceptable attendance and productivity standards is expected.
