The Principal Information Security Consultant will play a vital role in safeguarding and securing the information systems of Technology, Automation, and Management (TeAM), Inc. This position demands a thorough comprehension of cybersecurity regulations, methodologies, and protocols, encompassing risk management, security architecture, and incident management. The consultant will ensure that security protocols for information systems adhere to rigorous compliance standards and will be pivotal in sustaining operational security integrity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and supervise extensive information security initiatives, including policies, procedures, and control frameworks, to uphold the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Offer expert advice on cybersecurity issues, including the interpretation and application of relevant directives and regulations.
- Perform security evaluations and audits, pinpoint vulnerabilities, and implement corrective measures to bolster the security posture of the organization.
- Guarantee adherence to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and assist in achieving Authorization to Operate (ATO) for systems.
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to address security incidents and breaches, ensuring prompt response and remediation actions.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Support the application of security measures in line with the Cybersecurity Workforce Qualification and Management Program.
- Provide training and support to personnel on information security protocols and best practices.
- Stay informed about current and emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to recommend security enhancements.
- Engage in the planning and execution of information security projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
Position Requirements:
- MA/MS degree in a relevant discipline such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in information security or cybersecurity roles within a government agency or similar environment.
- Relevant security certifications are required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information security practices is essential.
- Must possess all necessary licenses for operating classified networks.
- IAM III certification is required based on job responsibilities and access levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of information security frameworks, standards, and best practices, including NIST, RMF, and STIGs.
- Experience with security regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the sector.
- Familiarity with security protocols concerning identity management, access control, and encryption.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex security projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
