About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer - Metallics to join our team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our Materials & Processes team, you will be responsible for the development, characterization, and inspection of materials across our Terran R launch vehicle.

Your primary focus will be on researching, trading, and selecting conventional and novel materials and processes for various demanding applications. You will also identify qualification criteria, test envelopes, and characterization campaigns, as well as author, implement, and maintain M&P requirements, technical specifications, and engineering work standards.

In addition, you will develop, control, and improve special processes, drive statistically-driven experimental design and process control initiatives, and interface with various teams, including materials engineering, laboratory, design, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and product engineering.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in materials science or engineering, or a related field, and at least 8 years of experience relevant to the competencies listed below. You should also have a strong foundation of materials science and engineering principles, as well as a commitment to accountability, collaboration, and execution.

A desire to establish and foster strong interdisciplinary relationships across the company is essential, as is an authentic, introspective, and inclusive mindset towards technical, interpersonal, and team growth and development.

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $150,000—$194,000 USD.
