Behavior Technician Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team at Centria Autism. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in helping children with autism reach their full potential.

In this role, you will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping children with autism and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be patient, empathetic, and able to work well in a team environment.

As a Behavior Technician, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the life of a child and their family. You will also have access to comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA
  • Use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Reduce interfering behaviors and promote positive behaviors
  • Work one-on-one with children and collaborate with the BCBA and other team members
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification, and Tuberculosis test (if not already certified)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to move in various positions (sit, stand, bend, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
