UPMC is seeking highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientists and Medical Laboratory Technicians to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures, while as a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will assist in the testing process and ensure accurate results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and direct laboratory testing, including test development and methodology evaluation.
- Recognize and respond to critical, abnormal, and unacceptable test results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including quality control checks and preventive maintenance.
- Train and orient new employees and students.
- Interact with laboratory customers and respond to inquiries.
Requirements:
- Medical Technologist MT(ASCP), Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS(ASCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
- Associate degree in a laboratory science with certification or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory preferred.
Clearances:
- Act 34
