About the Role

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Highway Staff Engineer to join our team of experts in transportation, traffic, and civil engineering. This is a full-time position that will play a key role in performing highway design and developing contract plans and documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform engineering design, review, and preparation of contract documents for highway projects.
  • Contract Management: Prepare and review contract documents and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with design team members and provide technical support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional client service and assist with proposal pursuits to secure new business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices.
  • Skills: Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads Designer, experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, RIDOT design requirements, and RIDEM and CRMC permitting regulations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to collect field data and measurements, lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and perform field work in various weather conditions.
  • Preferred Qualifications: EIT (Fundamentals of Engineering) or Professional Engineer license, preferred.
