Job Title: Materials Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team at The New IEM, LLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of materials flow, from receipt of components to shipping final product.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain control and accuracy over all inventories (Raw material, Work-in-progress, finished goods), including all planning, material transactions, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure all components and materials are delivered to support the production process.
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, and material control.
  • Establish and supervise production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain manager and Quality Manager to implement, and manage systems to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager and Quality Manager to resolve vendor return material authorizations in a manner which supports the production schedule.
  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Finance, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against future inconsistencies.
  • Participate as a member of the operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in supply chain management, inventory control, procurement, or a related field within manufacturing.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role overseeing materials, logistics, or procurement is required.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and materials planning (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor Syteline experience is a huge plus).
  • Certifications optional but beneficial: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of inventory management systems and processes.
  • Ability to work in and with an ERP/MRP system.
  • Excellent analytical skills for forecasting material requirements and managing costs.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and timelines.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, quantitative analysis, and analytical abilities.
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate business results and department needs.
  • Strong leader with a proactive, positive attitude, and a strong sense of self-motivations, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
