Role Summary

The Senior Staff Product Manager for Data, Simulation, and Evaluation will play a critical role in ensuring that Rivian's tooling is optimized for L3 and L4 autonomy. This individual will be responsible for product management and definition for Data, Simulation, and Evaluation, requiring deep expertise in building tooling that keeps Rivian owners safe and happy while under autonomy.

Responsibilities

Single product contact for Autonomy sim/eval/data workflows
Align product requirements with needs of internal customers on engineering teams (systems, motion planning, controls)
Maximize utilization of simulation by ensuring that workflows are streamlined and aligned with engineering team needs
Develop a long-term roadmap for evaluating longer scenarios and ODD expansion, including simulation, visualization, and data vis/dashboards
Establish eval criteria for safety for new customer features
Foster a Kaizen mentality for continuous iterative improvement
Identify short-term solutions to pain points, leveraging process and tools to drive efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in Product Management on deep tech products
Hands-on experience with ML-based products, including evaluation with metrics-driven analysis
Experience with developing and shipping Autonomous Vehicle products using open and closed-loop simulation
Ability to go deep on developer workflows to build pragmatic processes and toolchains that map to real use cases

Benefits

Rivian offers a competitive salary range for California-based applicants: $213,000.00 - $266,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Additionally, Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
