The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the manager with the daily functions of the pawnshop. This includes evaluating items for loans, maintaining precise transaction records, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager will also oversee staff training, ensure adherence to regulations, and manage inventory effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing complaints in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate merchandise sales and accurately handle cash transactions, ensuring correct change is provided.
  • Assess items, negotiate loan amounts and terms, complete necessary documentation, and track loan statuses.
  • Price and showcase forfeited items and purchased inventory, maintaining accurate transaction and inventory logs.
  • Safeguard pawned items, comply with pawnbroker laws and regulations, and collaborate with law enforcement regarding stolen goods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pawnshop environment, assist in policy development to improve shop efficiency, and suggest new products or services to attract customers.
  • Train and supervise team members, stay updated on market trends, participate in industry events, and implement best practices for accurate evaluations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a pawnshop or similar setting, with knowledge of pawnbroker laws and regulations.
  • Strong skills in merchandise evaluation, negotiation, and customer service.
  • Proficient in cash handling and maintaining accurate records, with a keen attention to detail and strong mathematical abilities.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Compensation: Starting at $18/hour, commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule: Full-time with weekend availability.
