Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team. As a key member of the nursing care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including essential daily care, safety and preventative care, patient mobility, and nutrition.
- Assist with meal tray delivery, collection, and documentation of amount consumed.
- Perform patient data collection, including vital signs, EKG, bladder scan, transfer devices, telemetry, and Massimo.
- Document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Provide direct patient monitoring, including safety attendant at bedside and video surveillance.
- Perform patient care interventions, including phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, blood glucose measurement, and telemetry.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing and healthcare team to ensure delivery of quality care.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire date, required.
- Accountability, clinical skills, interacting with people, multi-tasking, and reliability.
- Heavy work, exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, repetitive motion.
- Frequent grasping, hearing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking.
- Constant fit testing.
