We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Assistants/Home Health Aides to join our team at Bristal Assisted Living. As a key member of our care team, you will provide hands-on care to our residents in a respectful and dignified manner. Your role is essential to the care and safety of our residents, and we are committed to supporting you in your career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide support with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other daily activities to ensure our residents maintain their independence and dignity.
  • Escort Residents to Meals and Recreational Activities: Ensure our residents are able to participate in community activities and enjoy social interactions with their peers.
  • Support Residents in Achieving Their Highest Level of Wellbeing: Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans that promote the physical, emotional, and psycho-social wellbeing of our residents.
  • Assist with Wellness Area Tasks: Help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for our residents, including assisting with medication management and other tasks as needed.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to our established policies and procedures, and work closely with our Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness to ensure the highest level of care for our residents.

Qualifications:

  • NJ-Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide
  • Experience assisting individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus
  • Ability to speak and read in English
  • Previous experience working with geriatric populations, providing assistance with ADLs
  • Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines
  • Basic understanding of dementia; patience and professionalism in redirecting residents
  • Ability to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
  • Must always be reliable, caring, and gentle in touch and demeanor
  • Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
