Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Wellbeing:
    • Maintain a safe living environment for our youth.
    • Model and teach self-regulation techniques to promote emotional stability.
    • Promote a sense of community and safety among our youth.
    • Support conflict resolution skills and encourage positive relationships.
    • Utilize preventative strategies to address challenging behaviors.
    • Encourage family involvement and provide support as needed.
  • Youth Engagement:
    • Listen to and address individual concerns and needs.
    • Provide personal attention and support to promote a sense of belonging.
    • Support the growth and development of independent living skills.
    • Respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries.
    • Build positive relationships with our youth and their families.
    • Interact with empathy and understanding.
  • Supervision and Monitoring:
    • Plan, supervise, and support tasks that promote mental, physical, and social health.
    • Ensure the safe storage and administration of medications as prescribed.
    • Assist with homework, work attainment, goal setting, and achievement.
    • Prepare meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs of our youth.
    • Design and facilitate scheduled groups and activities as requested.
    • Transport our youth to appointments and outings as assigned.
    • Stay in close contact to maintain awareness of our youth's whereabouts.
    • Monitor health and other behaviors, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
    • Assist in training volunteers, interns, and relief employees under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Communication and Record Keeping:
    • Attend and positively contribute to weekly team meetings.
    • Attend professional training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Model positive and healthy behaviors, promoting a culture of respect and professionalism.
    • Objectively document behavioral events and maintain accurate records.
    • Maintain daily communication logs and record medication and fund disbursements.
    • Complete incident reports and other reports as requested by the supervisor.
    • Provide consistent communication and support with daily accurate documentation.
    Requirements
    • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in a human-service field preferred.
    • Minimum of 6 months of full-time experience providing direct service to youth in a work or volunteer capacity.
    • Experience working with youth who are homeless and/or involved in the foster care system.
    • Experience working with immigrant and refugee youth is preferred.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check and TB test.
    • WA Driver's license with a safe driving record.
    • Proof of COVID vaccination.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
