Job Summary

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time Healthcare Technician I for a clinical and administrative role at a correctional facility. The successful candidate will participate as a member of the medical team, providing support to physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Takes vital signs, height and weight, and documents patient information in electronic medical records.
  • Assists physicians with procedures, including preparing patients for examination.
  • Collects and handles specimens, including blood draws.
  • Cleans, sterilizes, and secures medical equipment.
  • Maintains supply stock in the Health Service Unit and examination rooms.
  • Aggregates medication orders and forwards to the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nurse Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • At least two years of progressively more responsible related healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be physically able to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and assist with lifting and rotating patients (up to 50 pounds).
