Mammography Technologist Lead

Froedtert South is seeking a highly skilled Mammographer Technologist Lead to join our team at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
Job Summary:Under the supervision of radiologists and the Lead Mammography Technologist, this role will perform routine and special mammography procedures in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures. The successful candidate will assist with quality maintenance and improvement, meet the requirements of the Radiologic Technologist (staff) as outlined in the Position Description and Performance Appraisal, and provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:- Operate all radiographic and ancillary equipment associated with the performance of routine and special mammography procedures, including pre-surgical lesion localization, and be responsible for radiation safety.
- Utilize proper radiographic and positioning techniques to maximize radiographic quality and minimize repeat films.
- Must be able to move patients on stretchers and wheelchairs.
- Must appropriately label radiographs and record pertinent clinical data.
- For special procedures, set up the exam room with all necessary equipment and supplies, complete consent/history forms, prepare patients emotionally and physically, and monitor them throughout the procedure.
- Scheduling routine and special procedures, providing preparation instructions, and answering questions is also a key responsibility.
- Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
- Administers medications in a timely manner, safely, and in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology.
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T) registered in diagnostic radiology (RTR).
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
