About the Role

The Coder II Inpatient is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for accurately coding inpatient accounts with balances less than $90,000. This includes Rehab and accounts that fall into the Inpatient Coder I category.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coding DRG assignment and collection of predefined indicators
  • Abstracting medical records with a case mix greater than 1.5
  • Providing timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and statistical purposes
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 Years Coding - Inpatient experience required (with High School Diploma)
  • 2 Years Coding - Inpatient experience required (with preferred education)

Select Education Type: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required, Associate's Degree Health Information Management Preferred, Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management Preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist Required. With High School Diploma, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist Required.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Weekend Requirements: As Needed. Call Requirements: None.
