We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in our Newburgh, NY office. As a Senior Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects, including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
- Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, and specifications to the work and make decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
- Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
- Expertise in federally-aided, transportation projects as a Construction Inspector preferred.
- Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or Municipal clients and a technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred.
- At least NICET II or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 5 or more years of related experience required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Comfortable with using computers and adapting to software.
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others.
- Strong mathematics skills.
- Ability to work outdoors, on job sites, for extended periods of time.
- Appia and/or CEES Experience.
- Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
