Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality concrete finishes and surfaces in various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with concrete finishing equipment and tools, as well as knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Safely smooth, level, and finish concrete surfaces to meet quality and texture standards using hand and power tools.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and equipment, including cement edging, troweling, and finishing equipment, to achieve desired finishes.
  • Jointing and Edging: Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.
  • Patching and Repair: Patch horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces as needed.
  • Form Assembly: Construct and assemble concrete forms and wooden frame structures for various concrete formations.
  • Assistive Duties: May assist with subgrade work, mixing of concrete or other aggregate mixtures, and breaking up and repairing old concrete surfaces.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of concrete finishing experience, with a preference for experience working with concrete curb machines.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive construction environment, with exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment. Must be able to work collaboratively with a team and possess excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.
