About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Millwright/Maintenance Technician to join our team at our sawmill in Eugene, Oregon. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical parts and machinery in our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
  • Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacement parts as needed
  • Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
  • Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
  • Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
  • Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck
  • Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
  • Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
Requirements
  • 2 years' recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
  • Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
  • Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus
