Job Title: Attorney - Transactions

Rudman & Winchell LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney - Transactions to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Real Estate and Corporate departments, you will specialize in legal matters involving business and commercial transactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist commercial clients with real estate transactions, entity formations and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, bank lending, contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with peers in other practice areas to provide the full range of legal services required by our clients.
  • Follow the ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state and comply with all requirements of the firm's professional liability insurer.
  • Monitor account receivables and participate in the firm's marketing efforts.
  • Review and analyze newly assigned work and existing matters to provide legal representation until the matter is concluded.
  • Assemble and ensure the accuracy of all correspondence and documents in connection with legal representation.
  • Perform necessary legal research using all available resources.
  • Formulate and issue well-rounded legal opinions to clients.
  • Advise and communicate regularly with clients regarding the status of a matter.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Maine. Maintains membership in state bar and completes all required Continuing Legal Education requirements on an annual basis.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities for anticipating challenges and providing valuable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases and technology tools.
  • Experience in a specific area of law, such as real estate law and corporate law, is preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to private and public buildings locally and statewide via private or public conveyance to attend to client needs on legal matters.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary.
