Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer Specialist to join our team at the StateJobsNY. As a key member of our Project Management Bureau, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the design and construction of various infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between the Office of Construction and regional construction groups
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of active construction projects and prepare associated reports
  • Provide technical support and guidance to regional construction groups
  • Review and approve contract documents and resolve differences in interpretation
  • Participate in the review and resolution of construction contract disputes
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a New York State Professional Engineer License and current registration. You must also have a qualifying bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, or one year of full-time qualifying engineering experience.

Additional qualifications include the ability to interpret contract documents, resolve differences in interpretation, and provide technical trainings and presentations to various groups.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and customer service.

This is a permanent appointment position, and continued employment is dependent upon continued possession of a New York State Professional Engineer's license with current registration.
