Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Specialist to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and security of our website, as well as providing technical support to our faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain the college's website, ensuring it is secure and free from malware.
  • Install, test, and support necessary hardware and software to develop the website.
  • Provide technical support to customers via email, phone, or walk-ins, ensuring resolution to issues.
  • Maintain protection against current threats by updating barracuda hardware with patches and mitigating the college's exposure to such threats.
  • Assist with developing, revising, and implementing Systems Security Policies and Website Security Maintenance to ensure best security practices are implemented.
  • Provide college-wide support of smart technology and computer laptops used by students to connect to and use the website.
  • Supervise part-time/college work study personnel and manage the IT Service Desk to identify customer support needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field.
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of Colleague, or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
