About Rise Economy:

With over 35 years of experience, Rise Economy stands as the largest statewide community reinvestment coalition in the United States. Our coalition comprises a diverse array of members, including financial counseling entities, consumer advocacy groups, multi-service organizations, affordable housing developers, community development financial institutions, tenant rights advocates, fair housing organizations, housing counseling services, small business support providers, legal aid organizations, and various community-based organizations (CBOs).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain a robust base of members and community partners through various campaigns, leadership initiatives, and outreach efforts.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, meetings, training sessions, and strategic discussions that empower coalition partners and members to think critically and act collectively towards shared objectives.
  • Engage in recruitment efforts to attract new members and partners for Rise Economy campaigns.
  • Lead and manage committee meetings that guide our initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Rise Economy members to foster their leadership skills, enhancing their ability to participate in policy advocacy and community benefit negotiations.
  • Coordinate community mobilizations as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of engagement activities in campaign and engagement databases.
  • Promote a supportive and collaborative work environment within the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in community organizing or engagement, particularly with racially diverse, low-to-moderate-income populations.
  • A strong commitment to racial and economic justice, aligned with the mission of Rise Economy.
  • Experience in working with a diverse range of community-based organizations (CBOs), with a preference for candidates who have established relationships within the Central Valley.
  • Excellent public speaking abilities.
  • Proficient in facilitating meetings and webinars (experience with Zoom is a plus).
  • A personable individual with strong relational skills, emotional intelligence, and respectful communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks.
  • Current residency in the Central Valley is required, with a preference for candidates based in Fresno.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for in-person meetings and events across the state.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills in policy development and advocacy.
  • Research capabilities.
  • Experience with CRM/database systems (Rise Economy utilizes EveryAction).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
