Primary Function

Wor-Wic Community College is seeking a Chief Student Affairs Officer to play a pivotal role in the College's executive leadership team. This position will provide strategic direction to deliver equitable, responsive, and student-focused services and programs tailored to our diverse community. The individual will oversee the student affairs division, focusing on critical functions that enhance student enrollment, development, and success while advancing the college's strategic objectives and mission.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enhances the student experience by managing a variety of student-centered support services and leadership development programs; oversees the Student Affairs division, including planning, promoting, and evaluating student support services; ensuring the integrity of student information; advising on college policies and procedures; coordinating cross-departmental initiatives; and supervising all student services personnel.
  • Collaborates with academic leaders and other departments to integrate curricular and co-curricular support services, promoting student retention and achievement.
  • Focuses on fostering a sense of belonging and institutional pride while addressing student needs; leads program development for student engagement and retention; and advocates for data-driven strategies to continuously enhance the student experience.
  • Provides executive oversight for college-wide initiatives, leading projects aimed at improving enrollment, student success, and service excellence; promotes continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making and cultivates a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Addresses barriers to student success through effective intervention and resolution; participates in crisis management efforts and is responsible for outreach and support related to student crises.
  • Ensures compliance with college policies, procedures, and applicable laws at the state and federal levels.
  • Develops and manages grants aligned with strategic planning goals.
  • Plans and administers the annual budgets for the Student Affairs division, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Acts as a strategic partner with the President and executive leadership team, working collaboratively to implement equity-centered strategic goals across the college.
  • Advocates for initiatives related to enrollment management and student services, building beneficial relationships both internally and externally.
  • Engages in special projects that support the college's mission or respond to external requests.
  • Participates in professional development and community service that positively reflects on the college.
  • Leads planning and decision-making processes informed by data, institutional research, and emerging trends.
  • Contributes to the comprehensive assessment processes for the department.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in student services, including supervisory roles.
  • Proven experience in advocating for and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience in budget development and management.
  • Strong conflict negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • A doctoral degree.
    • Experience in overseeing institutional enrollment management.
