At Davis Wire, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that all production processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Train Employees: Supervise and train employees in production departments, including training, motivation, and discipline.
- Improve Production Efficiency: Recommend procedures, systems, equipment, and machinery alterations to reduce cost, resolve problems, ensure product quality, reduce scrap, and improve production efficiency.
- Maintenance and Repair: Initiates work orders for maintenance and repair of machinery equipment and vehicles.
- Timecard Audits: Audits hourly employee's timecards for accuracy to ensure correct charges against production assignments.
- Company Rules and Regulations: Administers and enforces company rules, regulations, and policies.
- Safety Programs: Ensures compliance of safety programs for personnel and machinery.
- Grievance Proceedings: Serves as Company representative in first step grievance proceedings as required by the Plant Manager and/or Human Resources Manager.
- Employee Performance: Evaluates employee's overall performance, establishing goals and objectives for proper manufacturing techniques.
- Housekeeping Standards: Maintains established housekeeping standards.
- Material Handling: Ensures that all reasonable measures are taken to control the handling and use of materials used in the production process, known to be toxic and/or hazardous.
- Customer Deadlines: Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Quality Control: Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Equipment Adjustments: Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
- Work Procedures: Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Process Improvements: Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Work Problems: Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software and manufacturing software.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the General Plant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

- Physical Work: Ability to perform physical work with frequent use of arms and legs.
