Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting construction operations, managing project administration, and collaborating closely with the Project Manager on various Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This position involves mentoring field engineers and overseeing administrative staff to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee project engineering tasks for assigned projects.
• Ensure effective project execution, including resource management.
• Develop and implement project execution strategies.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, providing regular management updates.
• Prepare comprehensive project status reports covering schedule, budget, staffing, safety, and outstanding issues.
• Maintain communication and tracking tools, including Action Items, RFIs, Decisions, Deviation Notices, and Change Orders.
• Supervise subcontractor performance in terms of quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
• Review project specifications, standards, and drawings, coordinating with vendors and clients.
• Facilitate engineering site visits and respond to contractor inquiries.
• Oversee the delivery and review of project documents, drawings, and submittals.
• Participate in job site meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients to monitor project progress.
• Conduct initial assessments of vendor and subcontractor payment requests, validating project progress against approved values.
• Evaluate and negotiate proposed change directives and change orders.
• Engage with clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ascertain their needs and requirements.
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
• Manage project scope, schedule, quality, and risk effectively.
• Create and submit RFIs to clarify information gaps and document decisions made during the project.
• Ensure timely follow-up on RFIs and accurate responses from relevant parties.
• Document and track all RFIs and their impacts on project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Provide support to the Project Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• NCEES P.E. License is preferred.
• 6-8+ years of experience in the onshore Oil & Gas or Energy sector.
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• In-depth technical knowledge of engineering, design, and construction of onshore facilities.
• Experience in project management within engineering or construction firms.
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects valued at $5M or more.
• Proficient in project scheduling and estimating.
• General understanding of HSSEQ programs and requirements.

Software Proficiency

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong capabilities in MS Project.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio is a plus.
