Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifying potential areas for management letter comments.
  • Researching and resolving accounting-related issues.
  • Spotting potential challenges within specific engagements and discussing them with supervisors.
  • Reviewing staff work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Preparing annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
  • Assigning tasks to audit team members.
  • Engaging proactively with key client management to gather information, address concerns, and suggest improvements to business processes.
  • Planning and designing audit engagements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting and Math courses).
  • Three to five years of relevant audit experience in a public accounting environment.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book).
  • Proficient in accounting software applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Currently holding a valid Certified Public Accountant's (CPA) license or actively pursuing CPA licensure by completing the Texas CPA exam.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and a knack for mentoring.
  • Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
