Emergency Medical Instructor

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Emergency Medical Instructor to join our team at Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and providing engaging learning experiences for students in the field of EMT services. This role will leverage strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:- Designs instruction based upon knowledge of subject matter, current instructional practices, students, industry, and curriculum goals as outlined by the VA Department of Education Career and Technical Education Programs
- Develops authentic, engaging, hands-on learning lessons and evaluates student progress; provides students with prompt specific evaluative feedback; maintains appropriate records and prepare progress reports
- Implements a classroom management policy that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, Spotsylvania County School Board policy, the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services and administrative regulation
- Develops and maintains contacts and partnerships with local industry professionals
- Develops, maintains, and supervises clinical experiences for EMT students
- Remains current with changes that occur in the industry and discipline of Emergency Medical Technicians
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, including the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field of education or the equivalent in credentialing, training, and/or experience
- Emergency Medical Technician credential and CPR certification
- Ability to obtain additional/appropriate license(s) and/or endorsement(s) as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia and School Board

Employment Terms:- Employment may be offered as a 10.5-month (210 Day) position. Additional compensation is awarded for credits earned toward advanced degrees. New employees to Spotsylvania County will be compensated for up to 20 years of experience.
