Machine Operator

This is a dynamic production position that involves working with a variety of tasks, including part inspection, assembly, and packaging of plastic parts. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 4pm to 12am.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret setup and quality instructions, as well as work orders, to ensure specifications are met.
- Document startup processes and process changes in press setup notebooks and daily records, including machine cycle times.
- Troubleshoot molding and Life Floor equipment by making necessary adjustments.
- Set up and clean hoppers and other equipment to prevent contamination and prepare raw materials for processing.
- Configure fixtures, work tables, box holders, additive feeders, and other necessary equipment.
- Perform daily workstation setups and teardowns, including machine cleaning and auxiliary equipment setup.
- Troubleshoot equipment and make repairs as needed.
- Ensure work cells are stocked.
- Verify the quality level of raw materials, including drying materials, to ensure high-quality products.
- Develop knowledge of materials, additives, and dyes.
- Store equipment and tools in their designated areas.
- Clean, spray, and transport molds to storage racks daily.
- Apply scientific molding principles.
- Be trained in compression molding, compounding, injection, and blow molding, as well as assembly areas.
- Report needs to appropriate personnel or immediate supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining production goals.
- Help with weighing, counting, inventory reporting, packing, and storage of finished products.
- Relieve operators during rest periods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or up to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Physical demands include frequent use of hands, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds, and occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as ability to adjust focus.
- Software knowledge includes Microsoft Word, Excel, IQ, NWA, Mini Tabs, and Access.
