Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate service vehicles to provide emergency roadside service to members, including towing, fuel delivery, and battery jumpstarts.
  • Respond to calls from the Customer Interaction Center, verifying member information and providing service as needed.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip DOT checklists, documenting any vehicle issues or maintenance requirements.
  • Clean and maintain service vehicles on a regular basis.
  • Track and record daily activities, including call logs, vehicle logs, and receipts.
  • Utilize tablet or electronic devices to update calls and review towing and battery procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and acceptable driving record and DOT certification.
  • Report any driving infractions to management.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals related to member satisfaction, calls per hour, and safety.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license with minimal driving infractions/incidents.
  • Successful completion of drug screening, MVR, criminal background check, and DOT health screenings (pre-employment and ongoing).
  • Customer service experience, including effective communication with customers/members and understanding of customer expectations.
  • Safely operate a full-size or mini service van or tow truck and applicable service equipment.
  • Lift material weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Utilize GPS and maps to locate member breakdown locations.
  • Read and interpret AAA emergency road service rules and benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently, contacting leadership when necessary for direction or support.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Successfully complete AAA training programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience servicing vehicles, including fuel delivery, battery testing, and lockout service.
  • Prior tow truck driver or roadside service experience.
  • Commercial driving experience.

Work Environment:

This position requires frequent exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes, with less than 5% of work time spent in a temperature-controlled office environment.
