Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dining Services Team Member to join our team at Twin Lakes Community. As a Prep Cook and Dishwasher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality food service for our residents, visitors, and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook meals for residents, visitors, and employees, following established menus and recipes.
  2. Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption.
  3. Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
  4. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  5. Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
  6. Plate food in an attractive manner.
  7. Able to lift, unload, and move food and supplies; lift dishes to storage location.
  8. Required to work independently or aid others in the cleaning of all items used in the serving and preparation of meals.
  9. Use kitchen equipment safely by operating electrical and mechanical equipment.
  10. Maintain appropriate inventory of food and supplies.
  11. Proficiency in vegetable Scullery, preparing cold foods, light baking, basic entry-level cooking skills.

Essential Duties:

  1. Ensure adequate supply of clean utensils and dishes and pots and pans for use.
  2. Scrap trays, soak dishes, utensils, and assemble dish machine.
  3. Operate an industrial dishwasher.
  4. Set up and wash pots and pans.
  5. Clean Equipment including cooler, oven, stove.
  6. Stock the cooler and verify items received in order.
  7. Clean the floors of the kitchen and coolers.
  8. Removal of trash from kitchen.
  9. Operate an industrial dishwasher.
  10. Ensure proper safety and sanitation guidelines are used.
  11. Perform opening and closing side work.
  12. Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately.
  13. Provide quality food to residents, visitors, employees, and guests in a timely manner.
  14. Making tea and coffee, cleaning coffee machines in healthcare.
  15. Working on tray line, setting up the trays with utensils, napkins, condiments, read and call out the diet cards, some bending over for tray and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  16. Putting plates, desserts, and drink on tray then put on cart, some bending is required as well.
  17. Cleaning area and putting away milk and juice.
  18. Empty and clean tea urns and coffee pots.
  19. Pick up trays and trash from floor.
  20. Assist with sweeping and mopping the floor.
  21. Must be able to lift trash cans.

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience in a full-service kitchen (non-fast food) is preferred.
