Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Department Manager to join our team in Manhattan. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of assigned Nursing units, ensuring that standards of practice for nursing and patient care are maintained.

The ideal candidate will have six years of nursing experience, with progressive growth in a managerial role, and a minimum of two years in a skilled nursing facility. A BSN from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

You will participate in developing and implementing departmental plans and programs, supervise activities of assigned unit(s), and provide data and/or prepare reports on activities as required.

This role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team, communicate effectively, and make effective decisions. You will also be responsible for determining the needs of the department and developing appropriate plans of action.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the selection, management, and leadership of the Management Team
  • Motivate management team to work toward shared goals
  • Conduct leadership staff meetings to review patient care issues
  • Communicate changes in policy and procedure and implement corrective action as necessary
  • Effectively delegate responsibility to appropriate staff

You will also collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to ensure facility goals are met, develop staffing plans and schedules to provide optimal resident care, and participate in and oversee the investigation and reporting process regarding resident care issues.

Requirements
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six years of nursing experience, with progressive growth in a managerial role, and a minimum of two years in a skilled nursing facility
  • Valid NYS Professional Registered Nurse License
  • CPR Certification
Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
