We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients in the ICU, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, and communicate this information to the care team and physicians as needed.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation, and provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate patient learning needs and provide patient/family education on health conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients, and promote a culture of safety and quality care within the ICU.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Current New Mexico RN license or compact licensure required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire, with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC certifications required within 6 months of hire.
