Shift Details:

Full-Time, 8 AM - 8 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Position Overview:

The Imaging Specialist is responsible for capturing diagnostic images of specific areas of the human anatomy. This role supports the imaging department by performing essential tasks related to radiographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clarifies procedures to patients to ensure comprehension and provides relevant educational resources.
  • Facilitates patient transport to various clinical settings and confirms patient identity in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assists with the organization and management of patient documentation, ensuring accurate film and report handling.
  • Adheres to radiation safety standards to minimize unnecessary exposure to patients.
  • Prepares and administers contrast agents and medications as permitted by regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitors patients during imaging procedures and reports any unusual findings.
  • Ensures high-quality image submission to the PACS system, maintaining accuracy in patient data and imaging standards.
  • Maintains imaging equipment functionality and reports any malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Contributes to a clean and organized imaging environment, including all related areas.
  • May perform limited CT imaging in urgent situations when necessary.
  • Exhibits a proactive approach to safety and alertness in all tasks.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a recognized radiology certification program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Frequent visual and auditory engagement for patient interaction and equipment monitoring.
  • Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment safely.
  • Occasional physical activities including bending and lifting.

Licensure and Certifications:

Must possess the following certifications based on state regulations:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Radiologic Technologist certification from the relevant state authority.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
