We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse I to join our Hematology/Oncology team at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients and families affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote effective patient care and outcomes
- Recognize and treat cancer-related issues, including symptoms and priorities
- Teach patients and families about treatment expectations and cancer care
- Advocate for patients, families, and the nursing profession
- Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois
- Current AHA BLS/CPR and unit-specific certifications
- Effective communication skills and intermediate computer skills
- One year prior RN experience and current Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy certification
- Outpatient Ambulatory experience and Oncology experience
