ECS is a leading provider of advanced technology solutions to the Department of Energy. We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Morgantown, WV.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Network Engineer with a strong background in network architecture, design, and implementation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of installing, configuring, and maintaining complex network systems, as well as implementing and managing Cisco ASA firewalls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network architectures to meet the needs of ECS clients
  • Install, configure, and maintain network systems, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Implement and manage Cisco ASA firewalls to ensure secure and reliable network access
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages in a timely and efficient manner
  • Document network configurations, diagrams, and rack layouts to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
  • Evaluate network performance and make recommendations for improvement
  • Examine network vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Provide off-hours support as needed for system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities
  • Recommend, schedule, and/or implement repairs within the network environment
  • Schedule and perform backups on all network components
  • Ensure network components maintain compliance with NIST security requirements
  • Develop network documentation, including diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide network and system administration support to the ECS Helpdesk
  • Deploy and install the CODIS software and upgrades to the latest software baseline
  • Support labs with other CODIS-related software and processes
  • Support other system administration / engineering tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in networking, computer science, or a related field AND four years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in networking, computer science, or a related field AND six years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
  • OR Ten years of related work experience AND one or more mid-level network certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA etc.)
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must currently live in Morgantown, WV or willing to relocate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desired Skills

  • Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
  • Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature
