About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I: Painter to join our team at Boulder Housing Partners. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine to moderately complex surface preparation, painting, and finishing tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Paint and decorate facilities by scraping surfaces, applying paint removers, filling cracks and holes, and placing drop cloths.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping surfaces, applying paint, and filling cracks and holes.
  • Cover trim, floors, and other surfaces with tape, drop cloths, and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy painting environment by erecting scaffolds, ladders, and safety barriers according to prescribed protocols.
  • Document maintenance and decorating actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Improve painting job knowledge by attending training sessions, reading technical publications.
Requirements
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with diverse tenant population.
  • Self-starter attitude with ability to work with little supervision and direction.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Acceptable background information, including criminal background history.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of trade school or apprenticeship training program (or equivalent work experience) in one or more general building trades which can include painting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
